NorthIowaToday.com is your voice to communicate

NorthIowaToday.com is becoming a strong voice for the people of North Iowa.

“This website will publish your story. I don’t care if you are the mayor or just a regular citizen. You can use this website to tell your story,” said Matt Marquardt, publisher and owner of NorthIowaToday.com. “Our door is always open to anyone. We’ll find a way to get it done. We will take calls, emails, whatever.”

The goal of NorthIowaToday.com is to give its readers un-biased information and then let them make up their own minds. “We will not tell you who to vote for, what to think, like other media seem to do,” Marquardt said. “Who are they to do that? I’m betting they know less about most subjects than their readers.”

Marquardt said that despite attacks on him and NorthIowaToday.com from other local media, the site is going strong. “Our traffic is more or less doubling each month. 1.9 million page views in May. I feel good about it. Other local media personalities have made their wise-cracks about NorthIowaToday.com. KIMT threatened to throw me in jail. I kept that email, it’s from Mr. Greg Berry. I still laugh at that one. The Globe Gazette’s legal team contacted me this week too. I got those letters right here as well.”

Marquardt wanted to close by saying “I invite all North Iowans to submit news tips and opinions to NorthIowaToday.com. I also want to extend another invitation to Mayor Eric Bookmeyer, all six council members and any city staff to contact NorthIowaToday.com with any information that people should know about. I’ve been told that communication at City Hall has virtually ceased. I am told city staff now needs a memo or has to sign a slip to talk to a city council member. That’s not good for Mason City. Let’s keep the citizens informed with the real story.”
