MASON CITY – Mason City police and Cerro Gordo County sheriffs responded to a robbery in progress Thursday morning at about 9:20 AM at 110 12th Street SE.
A resident reported three subjects in the residence. One was armed with a sawed-off shotgun.
As police arrived, the suspects fled on foot. Officers searched the area and found one of the suspects in a vehicle driven by a female. The other two suspects were located near the downtown area.
After further instigation, a sawed-off shotgun was found in a garage in the 1200 block of South Georgia Avenue and a laptop computer stolen from the residence was found on one of the suspects. The suspects were acquainted with the victims.
Arrested and charged with 1st degree robbery and 1st degree burglary were:
All four subjects are innocent until proven guilty. All four were in the Cerro Gordo County Jail Thursday afternoon held on $25,000 bond.

Every time you turn around you get this same garbage in the news. I have not heard of the girl but those 3 young men are nothing but criminals. Get them the hell in prison before they kill someone. It is just a matter of time. Before they are sent away they need to be snipped so they can’t have kids. Trash like this procreates more and more trash because they can’t be a good parent. The kids have NO chance.

I do not endorse such criminal behavior. I am very upset along with the rest of my family. We were never raised to cause such touble…….With that being said, Joshua is my cousin. I love him very much just like the rest of our family. The fact that you are wishing death upon my cousin is down right a horrible thing to say. You should be ashamed of yourself. Do you have children? What if they made a mistake and people were wishing death upon them? It wouldn’t feel so good. I understand that in our country we have the right to an opinion. Once is a mistake. Twice is foolishness. Anything after that, shows conscience patterns of anti-social behaviors.
Justin Stauffer and Josh Rutledge need to serve some serious time. I cannot speak for the other two, but Justin and Josh are VIOLENT repeat offenders and will continue to be if they keep getting slaps on the wrist. Justin has several documented charges of violence and Josh stabbed a man with a box cutter and got away with it! Enough is enough – seriously. I am voting against each and every judge that allows this type of trash to be free on the streets, knowing they will re-offend.
