Mark Edward Adams “PeeWee”, 70, of Mason City, Iowa passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the IOOF Home surrounded by family.
A visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday April 4, 2025 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE Mason City, IA.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 11495 265th St, Mason City.
Mark was born in Mason City to Dick and Bonnie (Richardson) Adams. At a young age, he earned the nickname “PeeWee,” which stuck with him for life. He had a deep love for baseball and was an exceptional pitcher for the Mason City Mohawks, where he still holds high school records.
After graduating, PeeWee attended NIACC and UNI on a full baseball scholarship. He later married Maggie Stone, and together they had a daughter, Cassie. Though the couple eventually divorced, they remained close friends throughout the years.
PeeWee dedicated over 40 years to Hardee’s Fast Food warehouse recently known as MBM before retiring at the age of 65. In his free time, he enjoyed bartending and being a bouncer at various local spots, including Lu’s Lounge, Sallees, Tailgaters, and Sports Page. His passion for baseball never faded, as he continued playing in local leagues over the years.
He was well-known for riding his moped, even in the coldest weather. Summers often took him on trips to Texas and South Padre Island with his cousins. Above all, PeeWee cherished time spent with his friends and, most importantly, his grandchildren. He was always there when needed and was a devoted father who will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish memories of PeeWee are his daughter, Cassie (Justin) Helland; grandchildren, Jerrod Havig, Caleb Helland, Mason Helland and Sophie Helland; siblings, Doc (Jody) Adams, and Jeff (Mindy) Adams; longtime best friend, Larry Mallo; special roommate, Margaret Adams and shooter “the leg licker”; as well as tons of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pee Wee is preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
