Police seek person of interest connected to recent shooting death of Fort Dodge man

FORT DODGE – A Fort Dodge man was recently shot dead, and police are seeking contact with a person of interest in the homicide.

The Fort Dodge Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in the shooting death of Ryan R. Andrews on December 29th, 2023, that is now being labeled a homicide.

Investigators are looking for 37‐year‐old David S. Dayton (pictured above) of Fort Dodge for questioning in the homicide.  Dayton is described as 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 235 pounds, with blue eyes, and short brown hair.  Dayton is currently wanted out of Pocahontas County, Iowa for a parole violation, original charge drug abuse violation.

As part of this investigation, Webster County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500.00 reward to anyone with information as to the specific and current whereabouts of Mr. Dayton is encouraged to call the Fort Dodge Police Department. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
