CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man was hurt and his Cadillac Escalade sustained major damage when a teen driver broke a traffic law and caused a collision.

According to Charles City police, an accident took place on October 5, 2024. At 4:16 PM that day, officers were called to investigate a two-vehicle auto collision at the intersection of North Grand Avenue and 4th Avenue. Police say a 2003 black Cadillac Escalade driven by 20-year-old Brody Frascht of Charles City was traveling through the intersection when it was struck by an eastbound, red 2013 Chevy Cruz driven by 15-year-old Josephine Jacobs of Charles City.

As a result of the collision, Frascht sustained minor bodily injuries, and his Cadillac sustained major damage. Jacobs was issued a citation for failure to yield upon left turn and her Cruz sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Police estimated total damage at $20,000.
