OBIT: Arnold Paul “Griff” Griffith Jr.

Arnold Paul Griffith Jr., 81, of Northwood, Iowa and grew up in Clear Lake, Iowa passed away on September 22, 2024 at 10:30am. Services will be 2pm Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Sion Lutheran Church.

Arnold Paul Griffith Jr., 81, of Northwood, Iowa and grew up in Clear Lake, Iowa passed away on September 22, 2024 at 10:30am.

Services will be 2pm Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Sion Lutheran Church, 4527 Finch Ave, Lake Mills, IA 50450.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Friday, September 27, 2024 at Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 1st Ave. South, Northwood, IA 50459.

At Arnold’s request, his body will be cremated and interment will be at Sion Church.

Arnold was born on June 19, 1943 in Mason City, Iowa. He grew up in Clear Lake, Iowa. He was the son of Arnold Griffith, Sr. and Aileen (Wilkinson) Griffith. He went to Clear Lake High School until his junior year in which he went to Holy Family Catholic School in Mason City, Iowa. Arnold graduated from Newman High School in 1962. In school, he enjoyed playing football, volleyball, and basketball. Arnold also enjoyed working on cars, especially ones for car shows.

After school, he worked for Secory P&H, farmed for 2 years in Manly, Iowa, and ran the warehouse for Carroll George Inc. in Northwood, Iowa. After working at the warehouse, Arnold worked at Randall’s Ready Mix driving truck for many years. He retired several years ago to enjoy his grandchildren, children, great grandchildren, pets, and wife of 52 years, Linda Griffith.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife – Linda Griffith; son, Paul Griffith (Alex); daughter, Kari Griffith; stepson, Gail Hakes and his family, Kim, Erika (Jordan), Kole (Sabrina), Lillian, and Amelia, and Katie. Also, several in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad; mom; Grandma Griffith; Uncle Gene; brothers-in-law, Charles Groe, Lynn Groe, and Wayne Groe; sister-in-law, Elsa Groe and friend Barb Norstrom.
