MASON CITY, IA – Friends and family are remembering Brandon Joyner, a 21-year-old Mason City resident known for his kindness and creative spirit, who passed away on April 23, 2026.
An Iowa man described as an old soul, Brandon had a passion for music and history. He was self-teaching himself the piano and guitar, with a particular love for 80s and 90s hits. He was also a dedicated student of the Civil War and frequently visited historical museums.
Brandon was a graduate of Mason City Alternative School and was a valued employee at Woodharbor and Culver’s. Beyond his hobbies of gaming and hunting, he took great pride in his role as a supportive older brother to his four siblings.
He leaves behind his parents, Jill Joyner, Alan Cooper, and Greg Joyner, along with his siblings and grandparents.
