Deanna L. Eilderts, 84, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein, Iowa, with Reverend Scott McCaw officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa, and for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein, Iowa.
Deanna Lois Tellin was born June 25, 1941, on the family farm, north of Maynard in Fayette County, Iowa, the daughter of Harold John & Edna Lois (Jarchow) Tellin. She received her education at West Central High School where she was a member of the class of 1959. Deanna married LeRoy Kohlmeyer and they later divorced. Deanna lived most of her life in the Oelwein and Hawkeye areas. She worked at the Oelwein Middle School Cafeteria for 26 years. Deanna later married the love of her life Roger Harlan Eilderts. She moved to Grundy County by Wellsburg from June 2001 until March of 2024 when she moved back to Oelwein.
Deanna was raised in the Lutheran Church and later attended Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein. When she moved to Wellsburg, Deanna and Roger attended the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Deanna enjoyed crafting, sewing, tending to her flower beds either in town or on the farm, and spending time together with her entire family and friends.
Deanna is survived by her 4 Children: Chris (Randy) Kaune of Hawkeye, Colleen (Ken) Heath of Stockton, Illinois, Michael (Wanda) Kohlmeyer of Hawkeye & Mark (Janet) Kohlmeyer of Guttenberg; 16 Grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; Brother: Jack Tellin of Cedar Rapids; Several Nieces & Nephews & Several of her children and grandchildren’s friends that called her “Mom or Grandma” because she was family to them.
Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Roger Eilderts and nephew: Jon Tellin in February 2026.
