AMES – Iowa State crushed Arkansas State, 52-7, Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames.
The Cyclones held Arkansas State scoreless in the first half, the first opening half shutout for ISU since the Ohio game last season. Iowa State’s 52 points are the most since beating Kansas 59-7 on Oct. 2, 2021.
Iowa State held Arkansas State to 182 yards of total offense, the ninth time a Campbell led ISU team has held an opponent under 200 yards. The Cyclones rushed for a season-high 237 yards, including the first 100-yard game of the season, reaching that mark in the first half.
Iowa State has had 80 consecutive home games with at least 50,000 fans, a streak dating back to 2011 (excluding COVID games).
Matt Campbell is now 56-48 at Iowa State and 91-63 overall as a head coach. Campbell’s 56 wins at Iowa State are tied with Dan McCarney for the most in program history. Campbell has coached Iowa State as a ranked team a school record 26 times with a 15-11 record.
Iowa State is 3-0 for the fourth time since 2010 and the second time in the last three seasons.
