Michael Lee Dombrowski, 53, of Ames, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Bishop Drumm Nursing Home in Johnston. Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton, 306 Central Ave East.
Mike was born March 19, 1971, in Falls City, Nebraska, son of Edward “Frenchie” and Joan (Peterson) Dombrowski. He graduated from Hampton-Dumont High School in 1990. Mike attended Iowa State University and was a member of the wrestling team.
Mike loved all sports, especially football and wrestling. He was a tough guy and was even tougher on the wrestling mat. Mike’s proudest moment was becoming an Iowa State Wrestling Champion in 1990.
Mike is survived by his wife Amy Dombrowski; daughter Isabelle Dombrowski; mother Joan (Jerry) Hammond; brother Greg (Corey) Dombrowski; sister Tammy (Todd) Lewis; nieces Caitlin (Mario) Peña, Halie (Nolan Ostrom) Dombrowski, Jaymie and Cydnie Argotsinger.
He was preceded in death by his father.
