Waterloo police capture man who went on rampage with utility knife

WATERLOO – On January 30, 2013, at 2:55 AM, Waterloo Police arrested Scott Edward Schrage, age 28, of 1148 Lincoln Street, Waterloo at his residence without incident. He is charged with Willful Serious Injury. He taken to the Black Hawk County Jail and held on $50,000.00 bond.

Schrage’s arrested is in connection to an incident that took place on Monday, January 28, 2013 at approximately 10:50 PM, when Waterloo Police were dispatched to 133 Lobdell Road on report of a stabbing and shooting.

Upon arrival officers found two injured people:

Harold W.P. Adams, age 25, of 133 Lobdell Road, had a laceration to his forehead.
Kenneth R. Horton, age 50, of 133 Lobdell Road, had lacerations to his hands.

They were taken to Covenant Medical Center by private vehicle.

According to witnesses, Schrage used a utility knife to cut the victims. The suspect slashed all four tires on a Ford Van parked outside and fired a shot from a handgun before leaving the area on foot. The suspect has not been located.

The victim injuries were non-life threatening.
