Greatest WWE Matches You Don’t Want to Miss

We all grew up watching Stone Cold, Hulk, Shawn Michaels, and many others. As time passed, these legends were replaced by the likes of Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and other superstars. However, the entertainment levels didn’t go down. It was always high and may see an upward trend in future.

Unarguably, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is one of the biggest in sports entertainment. From classic to TLC and from Steel Cage to no-disqualification matches, it is bound to entertain us.

Over the years, WWE has given many unforgettable moments. Today, we’ll cherish the indelible matches etched in our memories for eternity. However, the selection of legendary matches may be highly subjective, but you’ll surely be entertained. So, without any delay, let’s ring the bell:

1. The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family – Elimination Chamber 2014:

Sometimes, fans don’t know if they want something until it happens. The same was the case with the two powerhouses. Unlike a traditional tag team match, it was a three-man tag team.

Often, high-intensity matches disappoint with one-sided results.

But this match over-delivered what was expected of it. With every wrestler knew what was on the line, they left no stone untouched to get positive results. After a brutal fight, The Wyatt Family emerged victorious against The Shield. Nonetheless, every wrestler involved became a superstar overnight after delivering such an electrifying match.

2. Stone Cold Steve Austin & Triple H vs. Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit – Monday Night Raw:

The year is 2001 and the tag team of Stone Cold and Triple H seems unstoppable. After decimating “The Brothers of Destruction” Kane and Undertaker, there’s no competitor left.

However, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit made a surprising challenge. This came as a shock to both the fans and the reigning tag team champs. Nevertheless, the tag team champs were brave enough to accept the challenge.

The two Chrises fought bravely, considering their lack of experience in big bouts. However, Triple H’s bravery and clinical performance ensured the retention of the tag team title.

3. Royal Rumble 2010:

There’s nothing more exciting when a whole roster is booked for a match. Royal Rumble provides sheer entertainment to fans. It is guaranteed to thrill the fans as a new wrestler enters the ring every minute.

However, Royal Rumble 2010 was different than the rest. From CM Punk’s domination to Kofi Kingston’s creative survival tricks, the first half of the match was pure entertainment. As Shawn Michaels eliminated Triple H, the match entered a new phase.

The fans were stunned as Edge became the 29th entrant. Until then, John Cena, the 19th entrant seemed the favorite. Edge, being Edge rolled over Cena to win a shot at the world title by winning Royal Rumble 2010.

We just couldn’t believe it at that time, and if you didn’t too, then you can revisit historic WWE matches online. However, to save yourself from buffering, seamless connectivity is required. We recommend a service like Optimum.

4. The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels – Wrestlemania XXVI:

The unbeaten streak of The Undertaker finally seemed to end with a worthy opponent – Shawn Michaels. The desperation of Shawn Michaels was visible as he eliminated his buddy at the Royal Rumble.

Going to lengths, The Deadman finally gave The Heartbreak Kid a chance for redemption. But it all came at a massive cost. It was essentially a Career vs Streak match. Both wrestlers had everything on the line.

All it took was two tombstones from The Deadman to end HBK’s career. Shawn Michaels’s career ended on a low. But it doesn’t define how he wrestled throughout the years.

5. The Undertaker vs. Triple H – WrestleMania XXVIII:

Another Taker’s match that is one of the greatest. However, this match was different than the rest of the adventures. This time, his opponents were the Triple H and Shawn Michaels – as a referee.

For the Deadman’s fans, the odds were clearly against him. However, they underestimated the aging legend for one more time. Shawn Michaels’s honesty has to be applauded here. He left aside his life-long friendship with Triple H and showed neutrality.

Undertaker was successful in pinning down Triple H, and his legacy strived to gain one more year. As for Triple H and Shawn Michaels, they cheered for the Deadman on being so consistent and determined to keep intact his unbeaten streak at Wrestlemania.

6. The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels – Badd Blood 1997:

Another great match featuring The Deadman and The Heartbreak’s Kid. However, this time it was not at Wrestlemania. It was the first “Hell in a Cell” match in WWE’s history.

The Undertaker was all in to take revenge from Michaels who cost him the title at SummerSlam. In the previous encounter, Michaels successfully escaped from the Undertaker. A steel cage was introduced to such a thing happening again and it lived up to its expectations.

Michaels did try to escape, but The Undertaker was quick to react. He threw Michaels off the cage and left him bloody. At this moment, lights went out and Kane emerged from big flames.

Kane tombstoned The Undertaker as the HBK crawled to pin him down. Eventually, Shawn Michaels was successful in his attempt. Irrespective of the results, the first match in a cage is potentially the best match ever in a cage.

Winding Up

As mentioned above, choosing the greatest matches is highly selective. However, we’ve shortlisted some memorable matches worth watching again. So, if you haven’t watched these epics, consider watching them today.
