EVANSTON, ILLINOIS – The Iowa Hawkeyes fell to the Northwestern Wildcats 89-54 in Welsh-Ryan Arena on Sunday night.
Iowa had two freshmen each score 14 points, Ryan Kriener and Tyler Cook. The 14 points for Kriener was a personal best. Big Ten scoring-leader Peter Jok of the Hawkeyes was held to a season-low four points.
Northwestern went on a 12-0 run in the second half, making the score 76-50 with 7:34 left in the game, effectively putting it out of reach for Iowa.

Northwestern led 44-32 at the half. A 14-1 run gave them a 39-23 over Iowa with 4:04 left in the first half. They opened the game with an 8-0 run and then they wenton an 8-2 run to start the second half. The Wildcats took a 52-34 with 16:49 left in the game.
The Hawkeyes return to action on Thursday, hosting Big Ten-leader Maryland. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
