MASON CITY – A Mason City man already awaiting trial for causing trouble at the Shalom Tower was arrested again there early Sunday.
According to police, James Robert Jacobson, age 57, was arrested for disturbing the peace after officers were dispatched for a subject yelling inside the building, waking up other residents.
A source inside the building told NIT that the trouble began hours earlier.
“People paid him so he got a bottle got drunk an[d] caused trouble with the other drunk that lives here,” the source said. “[I] think he is on his way out of here.”
Jacobson has plead not guilty to charges of fifth degree criminal mischief and obstruction of emergency communications after an incident that took place at the same location on November 30, 2013. Jacobson had allegedly tried to choke his neighbor. He is now awaiting a May 30th trial.
