Mackenzie Meyer’s 6 points help Iowa beat Nebraska, 75-72

IOWA CITY – Iowa’s Mackenzie Meyer scored 6 points and helped lead Iowa to victory over Nebraska Saturday afternoon.

Meyer, a former Mason City Mohawk, scored 6 points and chipped in an assist and two rebounds for Iowa (10-5, 1-1).

Four Hawkeyes reached double figures in Iowa’s first conference win of the season. They include: Megan Gustafson (22), Ally Disterhoft (16), Tania Davis (11), and Kathleen Doyle (10).

Disterhoft scored in double figures for the 48th consecutive game. She’s reached the feat in 93 of her 98 career starts.

Gustafson has now scored 20 or more points in seven games this season.

Freshman Kathleen Doyle has tied her career-high of six assists in three straight games.

Junior Christina Buttenham tied her career-high with six rebounds.

Iowa led by 3 points at halftime.

The Hawkeyes return to action on Jan. 3 when they take on Penn State in University Park, Pa. at 7 p.m. (ET)
