MASON CITY – Cerro Gordo County has officially activated the Joint Information Center (JIC) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The JIC will be conducted virtually to encourage staying home when possible. The JIC will coordinate the release of information regarding the county’s preparation and response for COVID-19.
“The JIC will be releasing a daily update that focuses on the most pertinent information from all responding partners,” said Brian Hanft, Director of CG Public Health. “With this situation being so fluid, it is vital that we all work together daily to create a unified message to share with the public.”

In general everyone seems to be going through the same process. And Iowa is about a week and a half behind the denser population regions. Denial happens first. Then comes shock. Followed by panic. Its just a strange world from then on out.
