MASON CITY – An adult novelty store in rural Mason City may be under investigation.

NIT has been made aware of search warrants executed by the South Central Drug Investigative Unit in Albert Lea. According to a statement from the Freeborn county sheriff’s office in Albert Lea, Minnesota, that law enforcement agency raided businesses in that area connected to Malcolm Prinzing. Sheriff Kurt Freitag further disclosed that “his stores in MN and IA” were part of a general law enforcement action, possibly involving other law enforcement agencies here in Iowa and Cerro Gordo county.

In rural Mason City, at 10480 265th Street, is the Pure Pleasure store, which is owned by Malcolm, Inc. of Albert Lea, Minnesota.  Malcom Prinzig is generally known to be the owner of this company.  This store and others like it owned by Mr. Prinzig sell adult novelty items like necklaces, DVDs, magazines and more.

According to Cerro Gordo county sheriff Kevin Pals, an “investigation continues” at this location. However, he could not elaborate at this time, saying there is “nothing to report” so far.

According to Sheriff Freitag, Malcolm Prinzing – who is known to own and operate adult stores throughout the North Iowa and Southern Minnesota region – delivered a letter to Albert Lea residents after one of his businesses was raided in a search warrant:

Most of you received a letter from Malcolm Prinzing late last week in which he made some inaccurate comments about a search warrant that was executed at his business. Now that the South Central Drug Investigative Unit has released a statement about the search warrant they executed on Prinzing’s business (and at his stores in MN and IA), I can comment a bit more about it and reply to the letter that Prinzing sent to all of you.
First, the SCDIU knew SPECIFICALLY what they were looking for in Prinzing’s office when they executed the search warrant in A.L. Not one Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputy was at Prinzing’s office when the warrant was executed. Also, when Prinzing was in possession of illegal products that contained the active ingredient in marijuana (THC), and when the SCDIU showed up at Prinzing’s office on 8 Sept with a search warrant based off of Probable Cause and signed by a judge..the first thing Prinzing did was to call me. Prinzing told me, “You’re the man. If anyone can stop this, you can. I need your help.. get down here.” To ask this of me, under those circumstance shows that corruption was on his mind.
I told Prinzing I was NOT going to his business for several reasons. The first was that it’s Illegal for me or anyone to interfere with the execution of a search warrant. The second reason I gave Prinzing was that it’s highly unethical and violates every rule of integrity for me to even show up, which I refused to do. The third reason I gave him, which is actually a very minor one, is that the sheriff’s office had nothing to do with the warrant or the execution of the warrant. I advised him to be polite and cooperate.
Prinzing donated to my campaign and also to our K-9 program. It’s apparent he believes that because he donated, he feels he has special privileges and the laws of the land applies to everyone, but him.
Prinzing is great at calling us names, like goons, clowns and whatever else, but he has no one to blame for his troubles but himself. Shame on Prinzing for the “misfit” comment and thank God we’re not all carbon copies of each other.
Being a WWII vet has no bearing in this matter whatsoever.
