MASON CITY – Three people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop and search warrant were executed in Mason City.
On July 15, 2022, a traffic stop was conducted by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department. Based on that investigation at the scene, Thomas William Jones, age 34 of Mason City, was arrested on outstanding warrants, possession of marijuana 2nd offense an aggravated misdemeanor, driving under suspension and open container of alcohol both simple misdemeanors. Amanda Kay Staley, age 31 of Mason City, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver a class b felony and failure to affix drug tax stamp a class d felony.
Based on the ongoing investigation, on July 18, 2022, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at 1009 6th SW in Mason City. The Search warrant was executed by the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force Special Operation Group Tactical Team. RT Harris Jr, age 47 of Mason City, was arrested at 1009 6th SW and is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail. Harris was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver a class b felony, failure to affix drug tax stamp a class d felony, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver a class d felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.
