ARMSTRONG — Joseph Michael “Joe” Eisenbacher Sr., 89, an Army veteran and longtime Armstrong-area resident, passed away peacefully Monday, July 20, 2026, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, just weeks before his 90th birthday.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, 506 Second Ave. in Armstrong.
Joe’s funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
Joe grew up in Armstrong and spent most of his life in the Armstrong and Ringsted area. After graduating from Armstrong High School, he served in the U.S. Army as a corpsman near the end of the Korean conflict.
Following his military service, Joe built a long career as a welder with Arts-Way Manufacturing in Armstrong. Away from work, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and gathering around the table to play cards.
Joe’s Christian faith was an important part of his life. His family is giving thanks for the years they shared with him and finds comfort in the hope offered through Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; former wife, Nancy; sister, Madonna; brother, Sylvester; sons Joe, Tim and Scott; daughters Tammy and Cindy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Viola; wife, JoAnne; brothers Roman, Robert, Richard and William; and sisters Evelyn, Margorie and Janice.
