MASON CITY – Paul Adams has filed his nomination papers with the Cerro Gordo County Auditor’s office and will appear on the ballot for the special election to fill the vacant At- Large City Council position in Mason City.

Adams announced his intention to run last week and had this to say about running for the vacant council seat, “Just in the past week, I’ve had the opportunity to visit with hundreds of Mason City citizens at their homes and in local businesses and can tell they care deeply about their city and its future. I am the candidate that can best represent all the citizens of Mason City, what they envision for the future of their city and I look forward to the conversations ahead.”

Adams and his wife Emily are the parents of 2 boys and he works at Principal Financial.

Any Mason City citizen interested in running in the election can file paperwork up until August 26.

You know I would consider understanding the Weaver haters but then they say something incredibly stupid and with the most ignorance obtainable. Precisely the mind set we have had enough of. Not about the age number, it’s all bigger than that. Pay attention . Spin it how you want, this fella will fall into the spell of the most insane mayor ever and stop and think what has gone on with our cavity. It ain’t rocket science, there is something terribly wrong with our controllers of this city.

At least he is better than Weaver who has never accomplished anything in his life.

I agree. Sounds great but he is too young. As you said our lives count even as we are older. Daily living for us does not include a hockey /skating arena.Daily living should include fun, decent living for all ages. Yes this is at stake. He isn’t ready for all of this.

Why too young ? He is in his 30’s..Weaver was in his 30’s when he first joined the Council. Current council person Schoneman is in his 30’s..Alex, may he rest in peace, was in his 30’s when he first started..many many past Council members have been also..it is irrelevant The choice just needs to be honest, intelligent, fair minded, strong, not an ego-maniac, have common sense and not be a Book Meyer mouthpiece..and not connected to the Chamber and that crowd. Mason city really needs all the help we can get.

Never heard of this guy. Really another one we know nothing.about his stance. He is certainly not old enough to know much. People out and about are saying he is a Bookmeyer supporter and the same mind set. We all know the out come of what we are dealing with now. The giant travesty of so many things in town. Mason City you know better by now. We just can’t have More of the same. Our lives are at stake . Honestly.

He has my vote! He’ll do a great job and is not part of the “establishment”.

He sounds like a great guy !

What EXACTLY sounds so great about him? Not saying he isn’t, but this article really doesn’t provide a whole lot of information, great sounding or otherwise, does it? I’d love to know more about him.
