MASON CITY – If you like free comic books, you need to be at Oak Leaf Collectibles in Mason City on May 3.
Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores.
Oak Leaf Collectibles will once again this year be participating in the FREE Comic Book Day event on May 3rd, 2014. There will be door prizes and specials throughout the store. Patrons are asked to wear their favorite Star Wars or super hero costume and to bring cameras. In addition, there will be special guest comic book artists in attendance.
The event is for a good cause, as 5% of all in store sales for the day will be donated the the North Iowa Youth Center.
