WASHINGTON – Kathleen Sebelius – the face of Obamacare as the Secretary of Health and Human Services – resigned this week, and President Barack Obama has named a successor.

On Friday, President Obama announced that Sylvia Mathews Burwell, the current director of the Office of Management and Budget would follow Kathleen Sebelius as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The White House said that Secretary Sebelius’s “work over the last five years have been critical to the health and welfare of the American people, and will benefit our families and this country for decades to come, President Obama said.”

Sebelius had little to say on her way out, as she thanked the President and “talented colleagues”.

“It has been the cause of my life and am grateful to serve at a historic time,” Sebelius said.

Sebelius oversaw the rollout of the Obamacare website, which was a calamity for many who could not get the website to work, nor show insurance plans and other options, as the site crashed frequently.
