Accused child molester fleeing Nevada caught in Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE - An accused child molester fleeing Nevada was caught this week in Fort Dodge.

FORT DODGE – An accused child molester fleeing Nevada was caught this week in Fort Dodge.

On Wednesday, August 31st, the Fort Dodge Police Department Criminal Investigation Division was contacted by a member of the FBI Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) out of Las Vegas in reference to an offender that had arrest warrants out of Clark County, Nevada and had fled their state. The FBI CAT team believed the offender was residing in Fort Dodge.

The Criminal Investigation Division worked throughout the day to gather as much information as possible on the offender. As a result of the investigation, search warrant for the offender was obtained and executed at 130 Country Club Drive. During the execution of the search warrant, the offender was located and taken into custody without incident. The offender was identified as 31‐year‐old Henderson, Nevada resident Brett Anderson Knutson.

Knutson was arrested on the following warrants:

– Sexual Assault Against Child Under 14
– Sexual Assault Against Child Under 14
– Sexual Assault Against Child Under 14

As a result of the investigation a second search warrant was obtained and was executed at 130 Country Club Drive. Mr. Knutson is currently being held in the Webster County Jail on $75,000.00 cash/surety bond.

This investigation was a collaborative effort involving many different agencies to include the Fort Dodge Police Department and the FBI CAT team which consists of members of the Las Vegas FBI, Henderson Police Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, North Las Vegas Police Department, and the State of Nevada Parole & Probation.
