WATERLOO – Five people were arrested by Waterloo police Sunday night after officers responded to a robbery and shooting at a local park.
According to police, on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at approximately 10:05 PM, Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue were dispatched to Gates Park, 200 block Lester Street, on report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found that a 17-year-old male had been shot in the leg. The investigation revealed that the victim and his father were at Gates Park to purchase an I-pad from a subject. While sitting in their vehicle with the subject, they were approached by several black males who ordered them out of their vehicle, robbed them of their money and shot the juvenile in the leg.
The follow-up investigation lead to the arrest of five suspects for Robbery in the First Degree and Willful Injury.
Arrested were:
Jalen Jahmal Gary, age 17, of 2640 E. 4th Street, Waterloo
Al Campbell, age 15, of 2405 E. 4th Street, Waterloo
Devin Thoummany Byrd, age 17, of 3313 Ellington Street, Waterloo
Quintorey Farshawn D’quan Kemp, age 16, of 1687 Woodmayr Drive, Waterloo
Devon Lee Martin, age 17, of 223 Webster Street, Waterloo
A search was conducted at 223 Webster Street where officers recovered a 9MM handgun and a .22 caliber revolver used in the robbery.

Of course it did. Any black male descended from American slaves has faced a population of scorn and suspicion. Racism has never ended. Liberia needed to be fully funded , not partially. Reparations and punishments have never formally occurred. The karma lingers on.
Buzz it’s sorta like if the nazis would never have been fully defeated and the Jews still lived in hitlers Germany living in slums and subject to arrests and disproportionate incarceration and violations of civil rights. The same would be said of the Jews that is being said of the blacks.

Obviously it was an attempt to purchase stolen goods. I don’t really care about the circumstances. My broader point to LVS and Buzzard Brains is that YES, this is all residual fallout from America’s horrible practice of slavery. It created the slums and projects that AFrican Americans are confined to today. I say confined because the white people don’t want them in their communities…they won’t admit this, but it’s the truth. Not my problem. It’s your problem. My family can be traced to arriving in 1911 well after slavery occurred. It’s the Blue Bloods problem…the longstanding families of the United States. They need to be formally punished, as well as the government itself for institutional racism and slavery. Also many companies like IBM assisted the Nazi’s and have never been formally punished for that as well. America sells one story on the front page, and lives another on the back page.
We don’t want them in our community because they bring in drugs an crime and contribute nothing to society. Just like you. That is why you are being run out of Clear Lake. Stings? No. Everything is going as planned. I have known for many moons what needs to be done, and wanted to satisfy one last attempt in my mind at working with the established parameters. I’ve done it before for the Globe many moons ago, and for the Iowa City Press Citizen while living homeless in my car. It’s noble to deliver people news. However, the job doesn’t fit within my plans, as I’m embarking on very important work this summer constructing solar home that North Iowa has never known. Online news is the future though
