MASON CITY – A well-liked administrator within the Mason City School District has submitted his resignation.

TJ Jumper recently submitted a letter of resignation to the Mason City School District.  He is resigning for family reasons and will likely be moving out of the North Iowa area.  Mr. Jumper was known as an energetic educator who was well-liked in all circles.  In his resignation letter, he thanked the district for his employment there and the opportunities he was afforded.

Mr. Jumper worked for Mason City schools for over 9 years and was the principal at Mason City High School.  He later took a position as an administrator; his latest position was called Executive Director of Education Quality & Leadership & 5-12 Programs.  That position paid him a salary of $138,798.60.

Good luck with your future endeavors Mr. Jumper. The district and many parents will miss you.

What bothered me about him and this salary was his less than stellar writing skills. He wrote a letter that was posted on here about a major school issue that contained several errors. I heard screeches on the blackboard. I was disheartened to see an administrator with mediocre written communication skills.

How many households did it take to pay that salary ? No wonder the private sector is struggling – like hell I mean – broke/busted/history.

Gotta agree that’s way out of line, but they still cry they are under paid.
