GARNER – A Garner man and former state trooper accused of possessing child porn has withdrawn a guilty plea and awaits trial.
David Lawrence Hubbard, age 66 of Garner and a retired state trooper, was arrested on June 30 by the Hancock County sheriff’s office on three counts of possession of child pornography. The offenses allegedly occurred back in November of 2013.
On August 21, Hubbard pled guilty and a sentencing hearing was set for October 20.
However, on September 14, the guilty plea was withdrawn. A jury trial is now scheduled for December 2, and a pre-trial conference is set for November 17.
Hubbard remains free until trial.
