DES MOINES – A man was shot and killed Tuesday night in Des Moines, and police sought and captured a suspect.
At 9:28 pm on 04 September 2015, Des Moines Police Patrol Officers responded to the 1200 blk of Sampson Street to investigate a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival they found the victim, 22 year old Trenton Washington of Des Moines, near a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Mr. Washington was transported to Mercy Hospital where he later died.
Des Moines Police Detectives have worked this investigation throughout the night, interviewing witnesses and following investigative leads. The Des Moines Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit continues to process the scene of the shooting.
On Wednesday, Des Moines Police Detectives arrested Michael Allen Cason, Jr., a 21 year old Des Moines resident, for the murder of Trenton Washington. Mr. Cason is being charged with Murder – 1st Degree.
