MASON CITY – A Mason City woman arrested twice by Mason City police for drunk driving within the last two years accepted a plea deal and avoided a harsher sentence – but did complete drunk driving school.
Jamie Rasmusson, age 32, was arrested by Mason City police on March 21, 2015 at 1:55 AM for 3 charges: Operating while intoxicated 2nd offense; Driving under revocation-operation without interlock device; and violation of conditions of a restricted license.
Rasmusson was previously arrested for operating while intoxicated 1st offense by the Mason City police on July 29, 2013 after being involved in a collision in the 1100 block of Crestmore Way at 2:21 AM.
Rasmusson took a plea deal in the 2015 drunk driving case to first offense operating while intoxicated. On July 28 she was sentenced to 2 days in jail or she may complete a 2-day weekend program. She was also ordered to pay $1,797.50 in fines and court fees.
On September 9, court records show Rasmusson submitted a Drunk Driving School Certificate of Completion to the court. She is awaiting a trial later this month on the charge of operation of a vehicle without interlock device.
