Susan “Sue” Schultz, 66, of Mason City, IA, passed away April 17, 2024, At St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel.

Susan “Sue” Schultz, 66, of Mason City, IA, passed away April 17, 2024, At St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA 50401. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Sue was born July 25, 1957 in Waterloo. IA, daughter of Philp and Irene (Hanson) Schultz. She graduated from Mason City High School with the class of 1976. For many years she was the top salesperson at Mode-O-Day. Later, she dedicated ten years in housekeeping for MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.

Sue possessed an unwavering passion and determination that propelled her to establish the flourishing Alcoholics Anonymous group in Fertile. Her commitment extended to supporting individuals on their recovery journeys as a dedicated sponsor. Additionally, she fervently championed animal rights, aligning with her deep affection for animals. Known for her magnetic personality, Sue effortlessly forged connections wherever she went. Hosting gatherings for her friends was a cherished activity, and her quick wit often left a lasting impression, epitomized by the phrase ‘it’s a Sue thing’.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Melissa Heizelman and Zach Hermanson; grandson, Zander Dickenson; brother, Philip Schultz; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Preceding her in death are her parents; as well as her siblings, Jeff, Steve, and Laura Schultz.
