Moonene Valerie Anguillo, 59, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.

Moonene was born on July 24, 1964, the daughter of Robert Wayne Barrett and Estella Amador of San Francisco, California. She was a graduate of Balboa High School. A majority of her life was spent living and working in California. Moonene’s most prominent job was working at the Kaiser Hospital. She was a loving mother of three daughters.

In her free time, Moonene loved listening to music and swimming. But what mattered most to her was family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

Those left to remember Moonene are her children, Nicole Barrett, Melissa Katherine Stevenson, and Briana Rose (Robert Jr.) Waldenburg; grandchildren, Mikey, Brayden, Alonna, Ari, Gemini, and Devon; siblings, Rick Barrett, Debbie Barrett, Doris “Pebbles” Barrett, and Jerry Dean; special friends, Ryan Evans, Lisa Delgman and Connie Walker; and previous spouse, Ron Anguillo.

Moonene is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Glen Stevenson, Ron Barrett Sr., Ernie Barrett, and Bobbie Barrett Jr.; as well as her special feline companion, Shadow.
