MASON CITY – Already awaiting trial on a second drunk driving offense in Worth county, a North Iowa man was arrested this weekend after allegedly committing the same crime for a third time.

Benny Marc Montgomery, age 30, was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail Friday evening, April 17, on a charge of second offense operating while intoxicated, driving with a revoked driver’s license and no seat belt. He was soon released from jail pending a court date.

Montgomery is facing the same charge of second offense operating while intoxicated in Worth county. A jury trial awaits him in June, after an arrest in November by the Iowa State Patrol.

Montgomery pleaded guilty to first offense operating while intoxicated back in 2013, also in Worth county. He is still paying off his fines and court costs in that case.
