KOSSUTH COUNTY – Bill Smidt of Titonka this week was named Kossuth county’s June “1440 Citizen of the Month” for his volunteerism and dedication to the community.

According to the sheriff’s office, Bill and his family live near Titonka and own and operate Smidt’s Automotive Repair. The nomination for the recognition stated that Bill is always ready to go above and beyond to help someone in need and he volunteers for numerous community events.
