MADISON COUNTY – An alleged drunk driver contributed to an Iowa man’s death earlier this month after rear-ending his pickup truck.

A report from the Iowa State Patrol indicates that Donald Ellis, 56, of Prole, Iowa, was rear-ended by a pickup truck near Highway 92 in Madison county driven by 49 year-old Julie Kay Brommel at about 10:10 PM on February 6th.

The report claims that Ellis exited his vehicle after the collision and then was struck by a pickup truck driven by Kathryn Jones, 35, of St. Charles, Iowa. Ellis was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
