MASON CITY – A Rockwell man has won a $10,000 Mega Millions prize.
Gerald Ries of Rockwell matched four white balls and the Mega Ball® in the June 14 drawing. He was one number away from winning that night’s $45 million jackpot.
No one won that night’s jackpot. It has now climbed to an estimated $71 million for Friday’s drawing.
Ries purchased his winning ticket at Rockwell Area Market, 202 N. Fourth St. in Rockwell. He claimed his prize on Monday at the lottery’s Mason City regional office.
The winning numbers in the June 14 drawing were 19-40-47-57-65 and Mega Ball 6. The Megaplier® was 2.
