LISBON, IA – An elderly Iowa woman was killed Friday when a train struck her car.
Wilma Joan Morningstar, 76, was attempting to pass a rail crossing near Lisbon, Iowa at about 8:3o AM this morning when a westbound Union Pacific train struck her vehicle.
According to the Iowa State Patrol report, this is a rural intersection with no lights nor cross arms and only a yield sign.
The Lisbon and Mt. Vernon Police police departments assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
