SAINT PAUL, MN – As the search for Lyle Marvin “Ty” Hoffman continues, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to report any discovery of dye stained currency. During the August 31, 2014 bank robbery – in which Hoffman is a suspect – a security dye pack was included with the money taken from the bank. When this pack activated, it caused the money to be permanently stained with a bright red dye. The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone with information about dye stained currency to call 9-1-1 and report it immediately.

Finally, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that Hoffman is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Any sighting should be immediately reported by calling 9-1-1.

Hoffman is the homicide suspect from the August 11, 2014 Arden Hills Holiday Gas Station murder of Kelly Phillips, formerly of Mason City. The pair are said to have been romantically-linked.
