MASON CITY – Police made three trips to a Mason City residence Sunday and arrested a woman there for public intoxication.

Police went to 3 Hazel Court in Mason City three times Sunday, August 24, beginning at 10:04 AM for a disturbance involving a male and a female having a verbal argument. The female left prior to officers arrival that morning.

Later, a caller reported an intoxicated resident was in the front yard of the residence causing a disturbance. Officers spoke to both residents and instructed the intoxicated party to stay inside the residence and stop causing a disturbance.

Later that evening, police went back to the same house when a caller reported a known subject, 48-year-old Sandy Kay Despenas, was causing a disturbance outside the residence. She was arrested for public intoxication.

Despenas later pled guilty to public intoxication and was assessed $262.50 in fines and court fees.

  1. Sad. Looks like a photo from a concentration camp. (I’m NOT saying this to be funny. It’s just a disturbing image to me.)
