Two victims shot in Fort Dodge gunfight, suspects sought by police

FORT DODGE - A gunfight erupted in the peaceful community of Fort Dodge and two male victims were shot, leading to a police investigation and the hunt for two suspects.

FORT DODGE – A gunfight erupted in the peaceful community of Fort Dodge and two male victims were shot, leading to a police investigation and the hunt for two suspects.

On Tuesday, March 7, at approximately 9:21 P.M., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received multiple calls of shots fired in the area of Star Convenience 1601 5th Ave S. While officers were responding they were advised that two males had been shot and that they had moved to two different locations.

When officers arrived in the area they located one injured male near Dominos Pizza, 1430 5th Avenue South and the other injured male was located in the 500 block South 16th Street. Both males were suffering from gunshot wounds. The Fort Dodge Fire Department responded to both locations and the injured subjects were transported to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center by ambulance. At this time, the injuries to both parties do not appear to be life threatening.

Upon further investigation it was determined that gunfire was exchanged between at least two offenders at Star Convenience. Responding officers worked to secure the scene and began speaking to witnesses. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division were called in to assist with the investigation and were able to continue speaking with witnesses and process the scene for evidence.

Following this incident, the Fort Dodge Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division along with the Webster County Attorney’s Office have continued to track down leads and gather information.

As a result of the ongoing investigation thus far, arrest warrants have been issued for the following offenders;

Keeshaun J. Crooks
* Willful Injury (C Felony)
* Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C Felony)
* Going Armed with Intent (D Felony)
* Possession of Firearm as Felon (D Felony)
* Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

Mr. Crooks is described as being 20 years of age, 5’11” tall, and weighing 170 pounds. Mr. Crooks should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Mr. Crooks, they are encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.

Eadon L. Long
* Willful Injury (C Felony)
* Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C Felony)
* Going Armed with Intent (D Felony)
* Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon x 2 (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
* Minor Armed with a Dangerous Weapon (Serious Misdemeanor)

Mr. Long is described as being 17 years of age, 5’11” tall, and weighing 140 pounds. Mr. Long should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Mr. Long, they are encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.

As part of this investigation, Webster County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward to anyone with information which leads to the arrest of these offenders. We are continuing to investigate this incident and encourage anyone with information to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department.
