MASON CITY — Connie Lee Steinlicht, 73, of Mason City, a devoted mother who shared a particularly close bond with her son, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Good Shepherd Health Center with her niece Vickey beside her.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, at Park Cemetery in Nora Springs, where Connie will be laid to rest.
Connie was born May 11, 1953, to Chris and Elda Paulsen.
Her son, Scott, occupied the most important place in Connie’s life. The two were best friends as well as mother and son, sharing everyday activities that created lasting memories.
Connie enjoyed accompanying Scott on errands, and the pair often worked together mowing lawns.
She held several different jobs through the years and enjoyed playing pool during her free time.
Connie is survived by her son, Scott; brother, Duwayne and Lynette Paulsen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Chris and Elda; and brothers- and sisters-in-law Bill and Shirley, John and Dixie, and Robert and Norma.
Her family will remember Connie for her devotion to Scott, the companionship they shared and the value she placed upon time spent with those closest to her.
