CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man was arrested last week and charged with felony domestic assault.
On January 19th at about 1:04 AM, Charles City police arrested 38-year-old John Dale Meek after being called to the 600 block of North Jackson Street on a report of a domestic situation.
Meek was charged with felony domestic assault, and due to his actions during the course of the arrest, he was also charged with assaulting an officer and interference with official acts.
Meek was soon released from jail under supervision. A no-contact order was put in place between Meek and the alleged victim. Meek awaits a February 3, 2014 hearing.
SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
