MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man is in jail for two days for violating his probation in a case involving a baby who inhaled marijuana smoke.
Nathaniel James Gabrielson, age 25, was found guilty this month of violating the terms of his probation in connection to a guilty plea to aggravated misdemeanor child endangerment with no injury. Authorities had alleged that Gabrielson’s son was left in an unsupervised area and ingested marijuana smoke in December of 2013. The substance later showed up in the boy’s system when authorities conducted a test on him.
Gabrielson was found guilty of contempt of court on July 16 and sentenced to 2 days in jail. Details of the violation weren’t disclosed, but Gabrielson has failed to make a payment on $1,547.69 in court costs and fees that he was ordered to pay in this case.
