CEDAR COUNTY – A Northwood truck driver was involved in a fatal head-on crash on an Iowa Interstate highway in which a wrong-way female driver lost her life.
The accident took place on January 14, 2023. At 3:08 AM in Cedar county on Interstate 80 at the 277 mile marker, a 2020 Honda vehicle operated by 46-year-old Rebecca McClain of Bettendorf, Iowa, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway. A truck operated by 65-year-old Stuart Anderson of Northwood met the Honda in the roadway, where the vehicles collided head-on. Both vehicles came to rest in the median at

As a result of the collision, McClain was killed.
The accident remains under investigation.
