OTTUMWA, IOWA — An Iowa man is dead after his BMW crashed into and landed inside a house.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. At 9:54 AM that morning, 44-year-old Jason Tobeck of Ottumwa was driving his 2007 BMW X5 at a high rate of speed when he lost control at an intersection, and crashed into a nearby house. The vehicle came to rest inside the house.
Tobeck was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A passenger, 21-year-old Brianna McConnell, was hurt and taken to a hospital by ambulance.
It was reported that two people inside the home were not hurt.
The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate.
