FORT DODGE – Three home occupants were rescued from a house fire Sunday afternoon in Fort Dodge.

Shortly before 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2025, Fort Dodge Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on N 12th Street with reports of occupants inside.

Incident command arrived on scene and advised crews an offensive mode would be used to attack the fire. Firefighters discovered that a male occupant was on the roof on the back of the building and a ground ladder would need deployed to get him down and away from the structure. Crews quickly got the male down and entered the structure to advance a hose line up to the second story and search the rest of the building for other reported occupants inside. Water was quickly placed on the fire and another crew removed two more victims from inside the building.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A second alarm was called to bring five more firefighters to assist in overhaul efforts.
