Wilkerson hired as NIACC women’s basketball assistant

niacc_trojans_logoMASON CITY – Jessica Wilkerson has been hired as the NIACC women’s assistant basketball coach.
Wilkerson will assist Todd Ciochetto, who was hired as the head women’s basketball coach in June. Ciochetto replaced Kelli Terrell, who will be an assistant women’s coach at Grand View University in Des Moines.

Wilkerson was the women’s assistant at Southeastern Community College from 2012-14. Before moving to Southeastern, Wilkerson was an assistant at Iowa Wesleyan in 2011-12 and was a graduate assistant at Missouri Baptist University in 2010-11.

Wilkerson graduated from Fort Madison High in 2003 and played at Kirkwood Community College from 2003-05. In her two years at Kirkwood, the Eagles advanced to the NJCAA Division II final four.
After Kirkwood, Wilkerson continued her basketball career at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. Wilkerson was the 2005-06 American Midwest Conference newcomer of the year and was a first-team all-conference selection.

Wilkerson was a NAIA scholar-athlete all-American in 2005-06. Wilkerson graduated from Columbia in 2007 with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration with majors in sports management and accounting. Wilkerson earned her Masters in sport management from Missouri Baptist University in 2012.
