MASON CITY – All Mason City Park shelters and restrooms are now closed for the winter. Portable toilets will be available, weather permitting, at East Park Shelter #2, Prairie Playground, Monroe Park and Ray Rorick Park.

All garbage containers will be removed from the parks for the winter season and the garbage truck will be in storage. The Park Staff is asking for assistance from the public to please take any trash out of the park. Thank you for your cooperation!

The Operation & Maintenance Department of the City of Mason City has sand available for Mason City residents to use for snow and ice control on residential sidewalks during the upcoming winter months. The sand available is located on a pile across the street from the Water Treatment Plant on the east side of Elm Drive in the vacant lot. Please bring your own buckets or containers to load the sand.

Residents are encouraged to stop by and pick up the sand during the current weather conditions since it is easier to move than in the winter when the temperatures are much colder.

For further information, contact Street Supervisor Bob Berggren at (641) 421-3675.
