MASON CITY – A North Iowa man was spotted by a police officer in a park and arrested for illegal drug possession.
Cerro Gordo county deputies located a vehicle in the Mike Zack Wildlife Area after park hours. The driver of the car, 30-year-old Chad Douglas Schaffer of Manly, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (Marijuana), unlawful possession of prescription drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Schaffer, who works at Winnebago Industries, was taken to jail and later released on his own recognizance. Schaffer is a convicted felon. He pled guilty in 2009 to felony drug possession (marijuana) with intent to deliver after being caught by Cerro Gordo deputies in 2008.
