Violent Iowa man strikes woman who was ignoring him three times

IOWA CITY – An Iowa man with a history of alleged violent crimes was arrested late Wednesday for striking a woman three times in the face.

Police arrested 58-year-old Jon H. Jorgensen of Iowa City after an on-going investigation into a March 1, 2014 incident where he was allegedly arguing with his girlfriend and attacked her. A report states that Jorgensen was being ignored by the woman, so he slapped her twice and then punched her once, saying to her “what did you say, bitch?” and that he meant to break her nose. The victim was bloodied and her glasses were broken.

Jorgensen was arrested Wednesday and taken to jail, where he is still being held on no bond on a felony charge of third or subsequent offense domestic assault.
