DES MOINES – An Iowa drunk driver speeding away from cops lost control of his car and slammed into a house, entering the structure and possibly damaging it beyond repair.

On Saturday, an officer attempted to stop 31-yr-old George Dunlap for speeding. Dunlap fled and began a pursuit. The officer called off the pursuit, but Dunlap continued on until he lost control and crashed into a house. Officers found the crash, and Dunlap was transported to a local hospital.

He was later charged with multiple offenses, including:

– OWI – 2nd Offense

– Felony D eluding

– Driving while barred

– Reckless driving

Dunlap, a convicted felon for theft back in 2021, faces a hearing in court of June 27.

At the scene of the crash, the house was off-kilter and seemed ready to possibly collapse. There was a gaping hole in the side of the house, with the offending vehicle inside.  Debris was strewn all about, and cops had the house cordoned off to keep people away.
