ALLISON, IOWA — Kenneth G. “Kenny” Alberts, 75, of Allison, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
Born February 3, 1951, in Waterloo, Kenny was the son of Lester and Grace Mulder Alberts. He graduated from Allison-Bristow High School in 1969 and built a life rooted in farming, family and the Northern Iowa community.
According to his obituary, Kenny farmed for most of his life, raising cattle and hogs. He also operated a printing press for Hawkeye Corrugated Box Company.
Kenny became known throughout the area for another practical talent: cleaning up old and unused farm equipment from farm sites. His obituary describes him as a self-made metal enthusiast who helped many area farmers clear their properties.
Kenny married Karen Konig on May 9, 1980. They made their home along the Butler Center Blacktop, where they raised their children before later moving into Allison.
Family remained at the center of Kenny’s life. He treasured time with Karen, their children and grandchildren. Showing cattle with his family and spending time at the sale barn with his closest friends were among his favorite activities.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen; daughter Rachel and her husband, Chad Jensen, of Clarksville, and their children, Wyatt and Weston; son Tyler and his wife, Sarah Alberts, of Ankeny, and their children, Bryton, Maddon and Creyton; sister Lanae and her husband, Mark Kramer, of Aplington; brother Michael and his wife, Becky Alberts, of Allison; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Grace Alberts, and his parents-in-law, Vern and Alice Konig.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, 308 Birch Street in Allison.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greene. Burial followed at Allison Cemetery.
